Parsippany School Board Election: See Who's Running In 2022

PARSIPPANY, NJ — Seven candidates will run for three available seats on the Parsippany-Troy Hills Board of Education.

The candidates are running for three-year terms. Currently, Board Members Andrew Choffo, Alison Cogan and Kendra Von Achen occupy those seats. The incumbents all filed to run for re-election in a field that features four challengers.

Here are the candidates, according to the Office of the Morris County Clerk:

• Andrew Choffo
• Alison C. Cogan
• Yvonne Ferise

Parsippany held a mayoral election last year, and there are no Township Council races this year. So during the Nov. 8 General Election, the school board race will mark Parsippany's only local contest.

That said, Parsippany voters will still have choices to make at the Congressional and county levels. Rep. Mikie Sherrill — a Democrat in her second term representing New Jersey's 11th Congressional District — faces Republican challenger Paul DeGroot, whose career in the Passaic County Prosecutor's Office spanned 25 years.

The Morris County Board of Commissioners pits six candidates — three Republicans and three Democrats — against each other for three available three-year seats. The Republican ticket features Doug Cabana, Christine Myers and Tom Mastrangelo. The Democratic slate includes Thomas "T.C." McCourt, Judith Hernandez and Baramdai "Alicia" Sharma.
