Parsippany Schools Among Top 50 Districts In NJ, Report Says

Niche's annual report cards and rankings for school districts are in, and Parsippany got high marks.

PARSIPPANY, NJ — Niche's annual report cards and rankings for school districts are in, and Parsippany got high marks. The Parsippany-Troy Hills Township School District placed among the top 50 in New Jersey, according to the website.

Parsippany received an A grade overall, plus the following marks in these categories:

  • academics: A
  • teachers: A-
  • clubs and activities: A
  • administration: A
  • food: B+
  • diversity: A-
  • college prep: A+
  • health and safety: A
  • sports: A
  • resources and facilities: B

Niche ranked Parsippany the eighth-best district in Morris County and 43rd in New Jersey.

While traditional school rankings typically rely on metrics such as test scores and academic performance, Niche tries to provide a more personal view of each school. The website combines user input — ratings from current students, alumni, and parents — with quantitative data from sources such as the U.S. Department of Education.

Niche includes data and rankings for 94,491 public schools, 2,489 private schools and 11,846 school districts nationwide.

Twenty-five New Jersey districts received an A+ plus. The Millburn Township School District topped the state rankings. The North Valley Regional High School District ranked second, Princeton Public Schools placed third, the West Windsor-Plainsboro Regional School District took fourth and the Livingston Board of Education School District garnered fifth.
