Just in time for Thanksgiving, this bakery has a Dutch apple pie that got thumbs up from the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals.

DENVILLE, NJ — Have you ever tried a PETA-approved pie? A Morris County bakery has one of the top 10 vegan pies in the nation, according to the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals.
The Mo'Pweeze Bakery in Denville has a Dutch apple pie that made PETA's list. All Mo'Pweeze products are vegan, kosher and free of the top 10 allergens.
“Apple filling with cinnamon and brown sugar under a buttery crumble makes Mo’Pweeze Bakery’s vegan pie an instant holiday classic,” said PETA Executive Vice President Tracy Reiman. “From peach to pecan, PETA celebrates all the vegan pies that make it easy to enjoy a delicious ThanksVegan feast that leaves cows and chickens in peace.”

Mo'Pweeze began as a way to offer tasty treats for their own family. Owner Christine Allen's eldest son, Troy, had eight food allergies but has outgrown all but nuts. Her husband, Adrian, is allergic to nuts and shellfish, and Allen is allergic to soy and some fruits.
But their immediate inspiration was their son, Maddox, who is allergic to 30 foods and counting — his twin sister, Sanaa', is allergy-free.
As Mo'Pweeze battled through the pandemic, the Morris County Chamber of Commerce chose them to receive a $10,000 grant from the Jets in partnership with Visa, as part of their efforts to support Black-owned, small businesses.
