Utility Pole Down By Rt. 46 Amid Outages In Morris County

Power has since been restored for almost all local customers.

PARSIPPANY, NJ — A utility pole fell down Friday amid power outages in Parsippany. Officials closed Changebridge Road in Montville between Bloomfield Avenue and Route 46 West.

The power company and police are on-scene. Montville police advised people to avoid the area.

It was not immediately clear what caused the pole to fall.

About 1,000 people lost power in Parsippany. But Jersey Central Power & Light restored power for all but 21 customers by about 2 p.m. Friday.

The outage for 1,059 customers affected 4.4 percent of Parsippany.
