What's At Stake?

A crowded Republican primary for New Jersey's 11th Congressional District will garner much of the local attention in the June 7 elections. Five candidates hope to represent the GOP in efforts to unseat Rep. Mikie Sherrill, a Democrat who first won the House seat in 2018.

The Republican candidates are Tayfun Selen, Paul DeGroot, Ruth McAndrew, Alexander R. Halter and Toby Anderson. Sherrill doesn't have a primary challenger.

Meanwhile, the Republican side also has a contested primary for the Morris County Board of Commissioners — five candidates going for three available seats. The Republican candidates are Doug Cabana, Christine Myers, Sarah Neibart, Joseph Coppola and Tom Mastrangelo.

Three Democrats — Thomas "T.C." McCourt, Judith Hernandez and Baramdai "Alicia" Sharma — filed to run, which makes their primary election uncontested.
