Rep. Frelinghuysen Meets With Local Activists In D.C.

Rep. Rodney Frelinghuysen reportedly told the activists he has not ruled out holding a traditional town hall meeting.

PARSIPPANY, NJ— Rep. Rodney Frelinghuysen (R-11) met with New Jersey activists in his Washington, D.C. office on Wednesday. About 30 members of NJ 11th For Change met with the congressman after repeated requests for an in-person town hall or meeting.

The activists and Frelinghuysen discussed a number of topics, ranging from Russia to a border wall, including some topics previously discussed during a tele-town hall meeting.

NJ 11th For Change said Frelinghuysen told them he has not ruled out hosting an in-person town hall meeting (he has not held one since 2013). The group has previously held town hall meetings without Frelinghuysen, who has preferred telephone conference calls in recent months.

Frelinghuysen did not respond to Patch's requests for comment. He told the Daily Record that he "was happy to meet with several dozen of my constituents who made the bus trip from New Jersey. They were good meetings and I appreciated hearing more about the issues that matter to them."
