Rt. 46 Starbucks Opening Pushed Back Again

Breaking: The store was supposed to open in Parsippany on Monday, but tired commuters showed up to find it still closed.

PARSIPPANY, NJ — The much-anticipated Route 46 Starbucks was supposed to open Monday morning, but when tired commuters showed up for their morning caffeine, they found it still closed. Now, it's not clear when the store will be open.

A manager for the store confirmed to Patch that the opening had been pushed back, but was unable to say why or when exactly it would open. An official with the Parsippany Clerk's Office did not immediately respond to Patch's request for more information.

The opening had been pushed back several times already before Monday's delays. Starbucks first anticipated a summer 2017 opening, then a fall opening, before pushing it back to "early 2018."

The Route 46 location will be the second Starbucks in Parsippany, and will have a drive-thru. The first opened on Route 10 last year, and a third is expected to open in April inside of the new small-format Target.

This is a developing story. Check back for more information on the new opening date.
