Run Like A Girl! Parsippany GOTR Finishes Florham Park Jaycees 5K
Just another day of seeing small, but mighty 3rd to 5th grade girls completing a "real" 5k course.
On Saturday June 8th, Girls on the Run (GOTR) local teams met at Holy Family Church in Florham Park, New Jersey for their annual spring run, the Florham Park Jaycees 5K.
The warm, sunny day brought out approximately 1,400 runners and walkers.
GOTR teams were organized by town. There was a shared station for coloring hair, creating motivational posters, and even a place to get pink, war-paint makeup. Another booth sold GOTR swag, including sunglasses and t-shirts.

Before the run, the girls got into the spirit, laughing and adding some fun to their look.
Parsippany coaches added some bling by gifting and helping their girls with sparkly, temporary tattoos and flower crowns.

Pink tutus and smiles abounded. GOTR coaches and girls motivated and encouraged one another through the finish line.
The season is coming to a close, but if you have a girl in mind to join the team, keep your eye on Patch for registration info for fall. New members are not just welcomed, they are celebrated, as the group focuses on acceptance and positivity.
