PARSIPPANY, NJ — Tommy's Tavern + Tap is looking to expand in Parsippany. The restaurant proposed an extension of its outdoor area, and the Township Council plans to vote on the matter soon.

Tommy's Tavern opened the 1900 Route 10 restaurant last year, offering a wide variety on a menu that includes wings, pizza, sushi and more. Restaurant ownership now seeks to grow its outdoor-dining space, complete with cabanas and firepits.

The Route 10 restaurant has a Morris Plains mailing address, but it's in Parsippany. As such, significant proposals to change up the use of the property go through the township's government.

The Township Council is set to vote at April 19's meeting on whether to approve both the expansion and on allowing Tommy's to serve alcohol in the new space.

The resolution will be part of the council's consent agenda at the meeting, according to Parsippany Deputy Clerk Leslie Miller. Municipal voting bodies, like the council, tend to approve consent-agenda items without further discussion at the meeting, barring unforeseen circumstances that get a resolution removed from the consent agenda.

The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Town Council Chambers at Town Hall (1001 Parsippany Blvd.).
