Trailer Carrying Carnival Teacup Ride Catches Fire In Morris County

Firefighters extinguished the blaze, which occurred about a week before the Boonton Carnival.

BOONTON, NJ — Firefighters are used to extinguishing vehicle blazes, but they typically involve means of transportation other than giant teacups. But the Boonton Fire Department found themselves in a unique situation Tuesday night, when an amusement park-ride trailer caught fire.

The blaze broke out in the braking system just before midnight at Boonton High School. Engine 303 arrived and quickly knocked down the fire.
