Truck Crashes After Swerving Through I-280 In Parsippany: State Police

New Jersey State Police believe the driver suffered a medical emergency.

PARSIPPANY, NJ — A box truck crashed early Sunday morning on Interstate 280 in Parsippany, according to New Jersey State Police. Authorities believe the driver suffered a medical emergency.

The crash occurred at 6:04 a.m. on Route 280 eastbound, milepost 0.5, police said. The Freightliner box truck was traveling east on Interstate 80 Locals Exit 47A onto I-280 east, according to State Police Sgt. Philip Curry.

The truck traveled off the left side of the ramp and across the curbed median, authorities said. Then it crossed all lanes onto I-280 east and entered the center median, where it hit the guardrail before coming to an "uncontrolled rest" in the westbound lanes of I-280, Curry said.

The driver's condition wasn't immediately clear. The crash remains under investigation.
