WATCH: Parsippany Cheerleaders Make Local Artist's Summer Song Remix

Just about every summer can be recalled by that one mega music hit that can be heard anywhere at nearly any time.

There are a few toppling the charts in the summer of 2015, one of which is OMI’s “Cheerleader.” But when a pop hit is released, it’s only a matter of time until other musicians – amateur or professional – put their own spin on the tune.

That’s exactly what Parsippany native Kris Alberts has done, spinning in her own verse into the summer hit and turning the song into a YouTube video.

Alberts, a Northvail Elementary School alum and graduate of the LaGuardia School of Performing Arts, recently released her own EP titled “Not Gonna Lie.”

The video, which features the Parsippany High School cheerleading squad and actor/director Julie Asriyan (a 2001 PHS grad herself), was produced and directed by Asriyan with shots of beach scenes and the squad showing off their best moves.
