World War II Veteran, Parsippany Grandfather Dies at 96

Wilhelm Abrahamsen moved to Parsippany in 1949.

Wilhelm Abrahamsen saw the world all while spending the majority of his life in Parsippany.

The grandfather and World War II Veteran died at the age of 96, according to his obituary.

Abrahamsen moved to Brooklyn, New York from Norway at age 17. He joined the Army Engineers and fought for four years in Europe during the war. After his return home, Abrahamsen moved to Parsippany in 1949 and worked his way up to being a general foreman for L.U. 1456 in New York City.

He traveled with his wife after retiring at 63 and loved spending time with friends and family. He is survived by a son and granddaughter.
