Youth Rugby Comes to Knollwood School

Teams from Parsippany, Montville and two other towns came to the elementary school for a rugby mini-tournament.

The Morris Youth Rugby League held the third of its six mini-tournaments Saturday at in Parsippany. Over 200 kids between the ages of five and 14 and representing four towns participated in the event: Parsippany, Montville, Mine Hill and Denville. Six other area towns also participate in the league.

Each town has at least one team in each age group. The Owls, kindergarteners and first-graders, Falcons, second- and third-graders, Hawks, fourth- and fifth-graders and Eagles, sixth-, seventh- and eighth-graders, play at least four games per tournament. The league holds its final tournament July 21 in Chester when all the teams attend, bringing about 1,000 kids to the playing field.
