Members also debated how a proposed McDonald's drive-thru and backyard chicken rules fit borough goals, while calling for better coordination among Pennington's boards as development picks up.
   

• VYING FOR GLORY: 20 NY/NJ teams will try to reach Open Cup (frontrowsoccer.com) — A Pennington-based club, Real Central NJ Soccer, will compete this fall in qualifying rounds for the 2027 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, facing teams from across New York and New Jersey. Local fans can follow four rounds of play starting the weekend of September 12–13 as the team tries to reach the tournament's main field.
   

• Bladder Medication Recalled Nationwide Over Cancer-Linked Impurity (ntd.com) — A nationwide recall of certain mirabegron bladder medication tablets involves Zydus Pharmaceuticals, whose U.S. distribution arm is based in Pennington. Federal regulators say one lot contains elevated levels of a cancer-linked nitrosamine impurity, and advise patients not to stop the drug abruptly but instead contact their pharmacist or prescriber to confirm lot numbers and discuss alternatives.
