New pouch systems will limit nonacademic phone use, while a $75,000 state appropriation sustains therapy dog and mental health programs. Officials also reported better attendance, planned a gifted-program review, and discussed new transportation options and Bear Tavern expansion funding. 
• Veteran Athletic Administrator Kenneth Mason Steps in as HVRSD Interim AD (mercerme.com) — Hopewell Valley schools, including Pennington’s Central High, will start the year with veteran administrator Kenneth Mason as interim athletic director after longtime AD Tripp Becker was placed on leave. Mason, experienced in several nearby districts, will oversee fall sports while Becker faces misdemeanor charges in Pennsylvania. District leaders stress the allegations don’t involve local students or school property and say Mason’s role can be extended as needed.
• School Employee Faces Charges After Family Allegedly Caught Him Peeping Through Daughter's Bedroom Window (cafemom.com) — Pennington-area parents should know that Hopewell Valley athletic director Tripp Becker has been placed on leave after Pennsylvania authorities charged him with loitering, prowling at night, and harassment for allegedly peeping into a girl’s bedroom window. District officials say no allegations involve local students or school property and emphasize his presumption of innocence. Superintendent Rosetta Treece has assured families the employee is barred from school grounds while the case proceeds.
