• Phillipsburg pauses 'parental responsibility' ordinance (wfmz.com) — Phillipsburg's town council has put the brakes on a proposed "parental responsibility" ordinance that could penalize adults when their children repeatedly commit certain offenses. After mixed public feedback and concerns the measure is too vague, council members agreed to revise the bill before reconsidering it at a future meeting, currently slated for Oct. 13.
   

• Girls Soccer Player of the Week for Sept. 23: Each grade has a representative (lehighvalleylive.com) — Phillipsburg is represented in this week's regional girls soccer honors by senior midfielder Caroline Tavormina, recognized among standout players across New Jersey and Pennsylvania leagues.
