Pull up a chair. Grab a coffee. Let's talk about your library.
On Saturday, June 6, Library Director Darren Miguez is hosting an open community conversation about the future of our physical space — and how we can make it work harder for the people who use it.
The focus: study pods. You've told us, in survey after survey, that you want more private space to focus, work, and learn. More than 40% of Plainsboro residents ranked quiet space among the most important things they value about the library. A third want more study and meeting rooms. The single most common request we heard? More comfortable, quiet places to read, write, and study.
Study pods could be one answer. Small, enclosed, private rooms with a desk, good light, and a door that closes. They're popping up in libraries across the country, and we're exploring whether they could work here, in our building, for our community.
But before we decide anything, we want to hear from you.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
- Casual, open conversation — not a formal presentation
- A look at what study pods are and how other libraries are using them
- Plenty of time for your questions, ideas, and honest reactions
- Refreshments and good company
Whether you're a daily visitor, an occasional drop-in, a student, a remote worker, a parent, or just curious — you're welcome. Stay for the full conversation or pop in for part of it. Either way, your voice matters here.
This event is part of the Plainsboro Public Library's Strategic Plan 2026–2028, a three-year roadmap built from the voices of more than 1,200 Plainsboro residents. Learn more at plainsborolibrary.org/strategic-plan.
You spoke. We listened. Now let's keep the conversation going.
