Today's riddle: Why do Norway's navy ships all have barcodes? 🤔 (Answer below!)
• Flooding, fallen trees leave cleanup work in Point Pleasant Beach (starnewsgroup.com) — Borough crews in Point Pleasant Beach spent Monday clearing flooded streets, fallen trees, and downed wires after a weekend nor'easter swamped Ocean Avenue, Broadway, and other low-lying areas. Residents had been urged to move cars to the train station lot and avoid barricaded roads, while public works and emergency responders worked through the tides to restore safer conditions.
• Oh my gourd, Charlie Brown! (starnewsgroup.com) — A longtime Point Pleasant Beach summer homeowner turned a hedge removal project into an unexpected backyard pumpkin patch, with a single mystery vine sprawling 40 feet and producing several pumpkins. Her family has enjoyed watching the surprise crop mature, and she now plans to use the homegrown pumpkins for Halloween decorations and maybe even a pie.
