  • The district encourages you to clap and cheer for your son/daughter. However, please do not bring air horns or other noisemakers. They interfere with the spectators' ability to hear the ceremony, especially when names are being announced. Friends and family members should also be advised of this expectation, too.
  • In order to protect the turf field, family and friends will not be permitted to greet graduates on the field following the commencement ceremony. Just like last year, families will meet their graduates on the gravel path.
  • No tickets are required. If there is inclement weather, the event will be held at 6:30 p.m. in the Memorial School gymnasium. Four tickets will be issued to each graduating senior.
  • No student will be allowed to participate in the graduation ceremony unless graduation requirements have been met.
  • Those who owe fines or have unfulfilled discipline obligations will not be issued caps and gowns on Wednesday, June 19.
  • Students will be checked upon arrival by 5:45 p.m. in the auditorium. Any student improperly dressed will not be allowed to participate in the graduation ceremony.
  • Nothing may be placed on the graduation gown or cap and no items may be brought onto the field. They will be confiscated.
  • Girls must wear appropriate clothes, such as a dress, pants or a skirt and blouse. No high-heeled shoes are permitted. Boys must wear dress pants. No blue jeans or shorts are permitted. No "flip-flop" type sandals or sneakers may be worn.
  • Do not bring pocketbooks or other valuables into the auditorium. There is no way to secure them.
  • Any student who is deemed under the influence of any controlled dangerous substance will be removed immediately from the graduation exercises and will be processed according to the substance abuse policy.
  • The presentation of graduates and diplomas will follow the usual procedure. Diploma covers will be presented to students during the ceremony. Diplomas will be presented to students in the gym following the graduation ceremony.
  • Diplomas of students who display inappropriate behavior during graduation will be withheld until the next Board of Education meeting. Any staff member or administrator supervising the ceremony may request that a student's diploma be removed from the distribution list at the end of the graduation ceremony.
  • Any disruptive student will be immediately removed and escorted off the field by police and/or a faculty member.
  • Guests in wheelchairs will be positioned on the track. Please call the main office at x2202 prior to June 14f or arrangements and instructions.
  • Two mandatory graduation practices are scheduled: Wednesday, June 19 at 8:30 a.m. (Auditorium) and Thursday, June 20 at 8:30 a.m. (Auditorium)
