2 Rescued, 1 Missing After Manasquan Inlet Boat Incident: Coast Guard
The search for the missing person was continuing Friday morning, Coast Guard officials said.

POINT PLEASANT BEACH, NJ — Authorities are continuing to search for a person who was missing following a boat crash in the Manasquan Inlet Thursday night, the U.S. Coast Guard confirmed.
Two people were rescued after the boat capsized in the inlet about 8 p.m., but the third person remained missing as of 6:30 a.m., officials with Coast Guard Station Manasquan Inlet said.

"Our crews, as well as other outside agencies, are working hard to locate the remaining missing person and to collect debris from the accident," the Coast Guard said. "We kindly ask the boating public to please give the rescue crews the time and space we need to complete this mission."
"We also ask that the public please refrain from spreading false information regarding the accident," the Coast Guard statement said. "Please only take into account updates you receive from us or other official sources."

An MH-65 Dolphin helicopter from Coast Guard Station Atlantic City resumed searching the area for the missing boater Friday morning, after flying over the inlet area with a spotlight for about 40 minutes on Thursday night.
Point Pleasant Beach police on Friday morning said the New Jersey State Police Marine Unit is handling the investigation.
A Coast Guard spokeswoman told Patch about 10 p.m. Thursday that the agency had been contacted about 8:30 p.m. by Point Pleasant Beach police for assistance with the incident.
"It's unclear whether the boat capsized or flipped," she said, adding details were scarce because it was still a very active scene.
News 12 New Jersey reported it was a 31-foot boat. An Asbury Park Press report quoted a witness who said the boat had crashed against the rocks.
The Coast Guard was assisting Thursday night with a 47-foot motor lifeboat out of Coast Guard Station Manasquan Inlet and an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter from Coast Guard Station Atlantic City. Multiple other agencies responded as well, including a dive unit, according to witnesses at the scene.
