This is the kind of summery weather we have been waiting for. Sunshine and moderate temperatures should make for a very comfortable weekend at the beach.
Here is a look from Patch at the beach forecast for the weekend of June 6 and 7.
The National Weather Service is calling for mostly sunny and temperatures in the low to mid-80s through Sunday. There is some wind possible, so bring a jacket or hoodie just in case. Storms are possible in the evening but shouldn't disrupt beach outings.

There is a low risk of rip currents on Friday, increasing to moderate on Saturday and Sunday. The water is still very cold, which can make even skilled swimmers tire faster. Only go in the ocean where there are lifeguards present. Do not swim after hours. Read up on what to look for to identify rip currents: Rip Currents In NJ: What To Look For, How To Survive Them
JELLYFISH: Clinging jellyfish are still a concern with the water still fairly cold in the bays along with the rivers. Paul Bologna, the Montclair State biology professor and jellyfish expert, said in the New Jersey Jellyspotters Facebook group that some clinging jellyfish were found in sampling in the northern part of Barnegat Bay in areas where they have been found in past years, such as the Metedeconk River. Because of that, people should be careful about wading particularly in areas with lots of vegetation as that is where clinging jellyfish are found.
It's worth carrying some white vinegar and calamine lotion in your beach gear to treat jellyfish stings. Bologna offers these instructions: Apply white vinegar immediately to stop any stinging cells that have not fired, then rinse the sting area with the salt water you are in to wash away tentacles. Do not use bottled water; it will cause stinging cells left behind to continue to sting. Wipe the area clean with a clean towel or cloth. Benadryl or calamine lotion can help with itching, and over-the-counter pain medicine can be used for pain from the stings depending on the severity.
