POINT PLEASANT BEACH, NJ — Point Pleasant Beach officials have decided to reschedule Saturday's parade and block party due to the forecast for storms, Mayor Doug Vitale said Friday.
The parade and block party that were set to celebrate America's 250th Anniversary have been moved to Sunday, Sept. 6, Vitale said.
The National Weather Service forecast has predicted rain and thunderstorms for most of the day on Saturday, which prompted the postponement, Vitale said.
"We appreciate everyone's understanding and look forward to celebrating together later this summer with an even bigger community celebration!" he said.
There will be additional details and updates released as the September date gets closer, Vitale said.
"Thank you for your support, and we look forward to celebrating America's 250th anniversary with the Point Pleasant Beach community on September 6!" he said.
