48th Annual Festival Of The Sea: See Parking Restrictions, Traffic Reminders

POINT PLEASANT BEACH, NJ — Point Pleasant Beach is gearing up for Saturday's 48th Festival of the Sea, and that includes parking reminders and traffic pattern changes.

The seafood festival is from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday along Arnold and Bay avenues, and there will be more than 200 crafters and vendors participating, along with restaurants, a beer garden, games, live music, and entertainment.

Parking restrictions and traffic pattern changes will begin at 5 a.m. on Saturday, Point Pleasant Beach police said.

The traffic changes will be as follows:

• Grove Street traffic will be one way eastbound from Lincoln Avenue to River Avenue.
• McLean Avenue traffic will be one way westbound from Orchard Avenue to Lincoln Avenue.
• Timber Lane will be closed to all traffic between Lincoln Avenue and Woodland Avenue from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday.

Residents on the affected areas of Grove Street, MeLean Avenue and Orchard Avenue are asked to park their vehicles on the street in the one-way directions that will be in force from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday.

In addition to the traffic changes, the River Avenue lot will be closed to parking from noon on Friday through midnight Saturday night.

All of these restrictions will shift to Sunday, the raindate for the festival, in the event that Saturday is rained out. The National Weather Service is not forecasting rain for Saturday, however.

There will be shuttles available during the festival, according to the Point Pleasant Beach Chamber of Commerce, from the following locations:

Point Pleasant Boro High School parking lot; Arnold & Ocean avenues; Parkway & Ocean Avenue; Baltimore Avenue & Broadway; Broadway & Ocean Avenue; Arnold Ave & Baltimore; Laurel Avenue & 35 South (high school lot pickup); Train Station Parking Lot (high school lot pickup).
