• Manasquan Man Stole Point Pleasant Campaign Signs, Police Say (patch.com) — Point Pleasant residents are being urged to keep political debates civil after police charged a 67-year-old Manasquan man with stealing multiple campaign signs from properties around town. The alleged thefts, reportedly including signs for Mayor Robert Sabosik, were caught on video and led to two theft charges. Police emphasized that political disagreements must not cross into vandalism or property crimes.
   

• Kickback Band bassist killed in Rahway crash (nj.com subscription) — A New Jersey cover band that played in Point Pleasant this summer is mourning bassist Dominick DiPalma, who died after being struck by a vehicle in Rahway on Sept. 22. Police say the crash remains under investigation with no charges filed, while bandmates and friends are sharing heartfelt tributes to his musicianship and kindness.
   

• Jersey Mike's marks National Disability Employment Awareness Month by deepening partnership with Best Buddies International (binje.com) — Point Pleasant residents may be interested that hometown brand Jersey Mike's is marking National Disability Employment Awareness Month with a nationwide October fundraiser for Best Buddies International. Customers can round up purchases or donate in-store, online, or via the app, with 100% of donations supporting employment and leadership opportunities for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
