Antrim School Principal Retiring In Point Pleasant Beach

The principal of the Antrim Elementary School has announced his retirement, and his replacement will be announced very soon.

The principal of the Antrim Elementary School has announced his retirement, and his replacement will be announced very soon.

A special meeting will be held on Tuesday night at 7:30 p.m. to appoint a new principal for the school.

Tom O’Hara was in his 16th year as the principal of G. Harold Antrim Elementary School. He graduated from Point Pleasant Beach High School in 1981.

O’Hara told The Ocean Star he would like to find a position where he can travel and see other parts of the country or the world.

“I’ve never been to Europe, so maybe I’ll get to Europe sometime," he told the publication. "Even just seeing different parts of the United States."

He got his bachelor’s of science degree from Lock Haven University, his master’s degree from Jersey City State College and his doctorate of education at Walden University.

He has 20 years of experience in school administration and was an assistant principal at two local school districts prior to his principal position.

He also has 13 years of teaching experience in Health, Physical Education and Drivers’ Education along with experience in coaching soccer, basketball and track from the middle school level to being a head coach at the varsity level.
