Barbara Eileen "Nean" Anderson Harris Of Point Pleasant Beach Dies At 88

Barbara Eileen "Nean" Anderson Harris, 88, of Point Pleasant Beach, passed away on Sunday, June 19, 2016.

She was born in Point Pleasant to the late Vernon and Sadie (Newman) Anderson. She was a lifelong area resident. Mrs. Harris was a member of the Daughters of America and the Osbornville Protestant Church, where she served with the Ladies Aid. She also volunteered at Claremont Care Center in Point Pleasant for the past seventeen years.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Richard Harris; sisters, Mary Alice Orme and Betty Reid; and brother, Paul Anderson. Surviving are two sons, Robert Harris of Whiting, and James Harris and his wife Holly of Point Pleasant Beach. Also surviving are her sister, Ruth Chadwick; two grandchildren, Elizabeth Weber and her husband Michael, and Gregory Harris; her great-granddaughter, Zoe; and by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 22 at the Pable Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road. A service will be held at the funeral home at 10 a.m. on Thursday, June 23. Interment will be at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown, at 10:30 am, Monday, June 27. In lieu of flowers donations made in her memory to either the Osbornville Protestant Church or the Point Pleasant First Aid/EMS, would be appreciated.
