Beach Fun On Tap In Point Pleasant Beach: Monday Manual

POINT PLEASANT, NJ— Welcome to the Aug. 8 edition of Monday Manual, where we highlight events coming up during the week in the Point Pleasant area.

It's a quiet week for major meetings. In Point Pleasant and Point Pleasant Beach, the boroughs' councils are off this week, and only the Zoning Board of Adjustment is meeting in Point Pleasant, to review zoning applications for residences.

If you're looking for something fun to do, Jenkinson's has its weekly events scheduled, including the Eat and Play combination of minigolf, amusements and food and the adult offering of Canines & Cocktails, along with Kiddie Beach Shows on Monday. Tuesday is Movies on the Beach, Wristband Day and another offering ofCanines & Cocktails. Wednesday is Grandparents Wednesdays, with a wristband offering for the kids, and Magical Mermaids performing at Jenkinson's Aquarium. Thursday is Fireworks at Dark and the Aquarium Beach Walk, and Friday brings Princess Storytime and another Wristband Night.

For the civic-minded, there are some committee meetings this week. The Point Pleasant Borough Open Space Advisory Committee is scheduled to meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Bennett Cabin at Riverfront Park, 2303 River Road.

In Point Pleasant Beach, the Cultural Arts Committee meets at 7 p.m. Monday at Borough Hall, 416 New Jersey Ave. The Animal Welfare Committee meets at 7 p.m. Wednesday, also at Borough Hall, and Thursday is the Open Space Advisory Committee at 7 p.m. at Borough Hall.
