Mom's Christmas Eve Party
Our mother's special Christmas Eve surprise, featuring an Elvis impersonator who sang to mom and entertained family and friends.
My mother, Olga Kleinertz, was paralyzed a few years ago, through no fault of her own.
I am her daughter, I live with her in Point Pleasant, and care for her along with my daughter, Shaylynn, who relieves me a few days a week. I wanted this Christmas to be very special for my mom and planned an open house at our house in Point Pleasant with the hope that all who love her would come out for a quick visit and make her feel special.
She has been down lately and feeling like the forgotten because she can't get around anymore. Well, it just got better and better with the planning.

My cousin, Sharon, had an idea to hire an Elvis impersonator to come and sing to her, being my mom was a huge Elvis fan. And we did and boy was she surprised. She had tears running down her face with a smile too enormous for words. His name was Craig Newell. He was great!
Editor's Note: The blogger, Judith Sherwood was born and raised in Point Pleasant, her mother has been a resident in the Borough for more than 50 years and she and her late husband had owned the Shore House when it was called the Westside Tavern.
