Bring New Trees To Your Point Pleasant Beach Neighborhood

The borough's Shade Tree Commission is seeking nominations for street blocks that need trees. Find out how to participate.

POINT PLEASANT BEACH, NJ — The Point Pleasant Beach Shade Tree Commission is seeking nomination for street blocks that need new trees as it works to put more trees along the borough's streets.

The commission is starting it 2023 spring grant program for homeowners and business property owners to nominate their street block for new trees.

"With street trees lacking in so many parts of our town, the Shade Tree Commission is seeking to encourage neighbors to actively participate in the improvement of their block," the commission said.

The nominations will be evaluated based on need for trees, the width of the planting area and how suitable the site is for planting trees.

"This will truly be a neighborhood project," the commission said.

Nominations must be submitted by Feb. 18. Include your name, address and and contact information and email the nomination to shadetreeppb@gmail.com, or text 732-492-7990.

Nominations also can be sent by U.S. mail to the PPB Shade Tree Commission, 1014 Gowdy Ave., Point Pleasant Beach, NJ 08742.
