Local Sponsors Support Cancer Concern Center; Dinner Dance Tickets Available

The Cancer Concern Center is a small non-profit that is completely focused on supporting women and men with cancer who live in the Point Pleasant Beach area. The organization's largest fundraiser of the year is a Dinner Dance fundraiser at Jack Baker's Lobster Shanty in Point Pleasant Beach. Sponsors include Hess Construction, Jersey Shore Radiology Associates, Dr. Kenneth Nahum, OceanFirst Bank, the Bay-Head Mantoloking PBA, and With Eddie's Help.

The Dinner Dance fundraiser will take place this Saturday, March 29, from 7-11 p.m. Tickets are $80 each and still available. Please contact Lisa Montalbano at 732-615-7590 or lbano@comcast.net, as soon as possible, to reserve tickets.

The $80 ticket price includes a four-hour open bar, four-course dinner, and live entertainment by the Mark Burg Band. All proceeds benefit the Cancer Concern Center's local support programs for cancer survivors and their families.

The Cancer Concern Center offers support groups, nutritional counseling, yoga classes, new wigs, and day-to-day emotional assistance in a welcoming setting. No mandatory fees are charged for the center’s programs.

Volunteers and donations help keep the Cancer Concern Center's doors open. The organization's annual budget is just $60,000, but for a small non-profit, that can be tough to raise – especially as the local community continues to rebound from Superstorm Sandy. The past year brought many challenges to the Cancer Concern Center, but the organization realizes this is true for all local families and businesses.
