Caring for Seniors, why is it a "Taboo" in Society

Why does it seem to be a "Taboo" in discussing caring for a Senior in your life that you love. Is our society so focused on staying young that we don't realize the values in our Seniors? Think about it, if it were not for our Senior's journey in life's experiences, within our historical times and raising us, we would not have what we have. Our society crucially needs to start to recognize our Senior community, acknowledging their contributions to a better world we live in. The entire community needs to recognize this and remember our Seniors always no matter what time of year it is. Society needs to slow down, a 10 minute phone call or 15 minute visit to a Senior's home is timeless to a Senior. Especially our Seniors who are homebound. Has life gotten so out of hand with us being busy with our professions, families and individual time that we can't take 15 minutes a month to visit a loved one whether it be by phone, writing a card or visiting in person. Caring for a Senior in your life is not a "Taboo", to talk about if you are struggling with it. One would be surprised how many others may be struggling as well. Perhaps if we lean on each other, discuss it, bring it out into the open, not be embarrassed by it perhaps we can solve it together as a community effort. Its not easy balancing one's life and putting in the time to care for a Senior but discussing it with friends, family and reaching out to local community organizations that offer care support is a smart thing to do. Don't be ashamed of caring for a senior especially if you are struggling with it all, trying to find resources to assist you is easier than you think if you just open your mind to it. Asking for help is not a "Taboo" in this area its smart. There is more help out there within our communities than you think. Look outside the problems of caring for our Seniors, your approach of this task is the key to being successful with it.
