Carla F. Almeida Of Point Pleasant Dies At 42

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, a funeral Mass is slated for Wednesday.

Carla F. Almeida died peacefully on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune, after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was 42. Carla was born in Orange and lived in Kendall Park, where she was raised, North Brunswick and spent summers in Point Pleasant where she currently resided. Carla was a 1992 graduate of South Brunswick High School; attended Middlesex County College and attended East Brunswick Vo-Tech where she graduated with a degree in Cosmetology.

Carla worked for various hair studios and most recently the Hair Cuttery in Red Bank until July 2014. Carla was a fun, outgoing person with a dynamic sense of humor. She enjoyed going to the Vive Gym (formerly Gold’s Gym) in Point Pleasant, dancing, being at the beach and most importantly being with her children and family.

She is predeceased by her father, Frank Dascoli who died in 2014. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her beloved children, Christopher F. Almeida of Point Pleasant, and Sandina Almeida of Point Pleasant; mother, Sandra Dascoli of Point Pleasant; sisters, Lisa Anne Dascoli of Little Falls, and Vicki Mansure and husband Harry of Columbus; nieces and nephews, Timothy F. Mansure, Samantha A. Garrabrant, Jake J. Mansure, Devon D. Garrabrant and Keira N. Mansure along with many aunts, uncles, cousins and countless friends.

Visiting hours will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at the Colonial Funeral Home, 2170 Hwy. 88, Brick. Funeral services will begin with a prayer 9 a.m. Wednesday, April 8, 2015, followed by a 10 a.m. Mass at St. Peter’s RC Church in Point Pleasant Beach. Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in East Orange.
