Due to the fact that two of Carol Walker Clayton’s family members served our country in the American Revolution (1775-1783), she was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. The two soldiers that fought were Edward Patterson Cook and James Hurley, both from New Jersey.
As a result of her interest in genealogy, the family records of the Cook, Megill, Hurley, Kabus, Creighton, Johnston, and Walker families were recorded. Mrs. Clayton was a member of the Central United Methodist Church, Point Pleasant Beach, where she had held several leadership positions over the years.
She was preceded in death by her dear siblings Virginia Gant, Donald Walker, Richard Walker, and Ralph Walker.
Surviving are her loving husband of 56 years, Tim Clayton, her loving children, Dr. T. Michael Clayton, and Maureen Clayton Garofalo, her cherished granddaughter Christina Garofalo, her dear siblings, Robert Walker, and Doris Norton, and her sister-in-law Anne Clayton Brennan, and many nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.
