A. Caroline 'Cal" Ando Of Point Pleasant Dies At 92
Services slated for Sunday and Monday for 45-year Point Pleasant resident.

A. Caroline “Cal” Ando (nee O’Hara), 92, of Point Pleasant passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2015.
She was born in Manchester By-The-Sea, Massachusetts and spent her youth in Beverly Farms, Massachusetts and has resided in Point Pleasant since 1970. Cal was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was an active parishioner of St. Martha’s Roman Catholic Church in Point Pleasant. She was a member of Shore Surf Club (and whatever else she was signed up for). She loved to travel, especially to Hawaii and enjoyed many family days at Sea Girt Army Camp Beach. Above all else, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 50 years, Lt. Col. (Ret.) Paul Ando in 2009 and by her daughter, Bernadette Anen in 2008. She is survived by her children; Paul J. Ando III and his wife, Janet of Brick; Karen Breuel and her husband, Edward of Howell, Ann O. Clayton and her husband, Scott of Point Pleasant and Thomas A. Ando of Point Pleasant. Ten grandchildren; Paul J. Ando IV, Terrance Ando and wife, Joelle, Edward Breuel Jr., Dana Fontana, Christopher Anen and wife, Denise, Sean Anen, and Scott, Kerry, Allyson and Colin Clayton. Five great- grandchildren; Nicole, Camryn, Nicholas, Tyler and Daniel.
Also surviving is her sister Mary E. Cruddas of North Carolina. She was also predeceased by her siblings, the late Francis A. O’Hara, Nora C. Woods, Kathleen Treacy, Elizabeth P. Murphy, Margaret M. Bouchard, Joan B. Malloy, Thomas O’Hara and Sally O’Hara. Aunt Cal also leaves many nieces and nephews and their families. She was proud of her Irish heritage.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday, August 9, 2015, at Colonial Funeral Home, 2170 Route 88 in Brick. A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, August 10 at St. Martha’s Roman Catholic Church in Point Pleasant. Burial will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday August 12, at the Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle New Jersey Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Arneytown, NJ. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made in her memory to: WoundedWarriorProject.org
