Clarks Landing Yacht Club “Fish’n for the Cause” raises $15,000 for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®,
Wave of support inspires company’s sponsorship of 2018 St. Jude Walk/Run to End Childhood Cancer
POINT PLEASANT, N.J. (Jan. 2, 2017) – St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital® and Lunch Break Soup Kitchen were the beneficiaries of the sixth annual fishing tournament, “Fish’n for the Cause” hosted by The Clarks Landing Yacht Club between May to November 2017. The event raised more than $9,000 through the tournament for children fighting cancer and other life-threatening diseases, and an additional $6,000 was donated by Clarks Landing’s Wedding Banquet Hall. Alongside this incredible $15,000 donation to St. Jude, food is donated to Lunch Break Soup Kitchen in Red Bank, NJ.
Inspired by the wave of support for St. Jude during the tournament, Clarks Landing Marina announced it will once again be the presenting sponsor of this year’s Jersey Shore St. Jude Walk/Run to End Childhood Cancer on Saturday, Sept. 22, along the Seaside Heights Boardwalk. Thanks to generous donors like Clarks Landing Yacht Club, families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food – because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.
“We greatly appreciate the commitment Clarks Landing has made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, which is dedicated to finding cures for childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases,” said Laura Wallenstein of ALSAC, the fundraising and awareness organization for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. “Because of their fighting spirits and generosity, the advances made at St. Jude are helping to save children everywhere.”
Since Fish’n for the Cause began in 2012, Clarks Landing has raised more than $75,000 in charitable donations – most of which has supported cancer research and treatment. Special thanks to the following tournament sponsors: R. Kremer and Son Marine Contractors, Salty Dog, The Fisherman, Boatshopper.com, Nottingham Insurance, Sysco, Ahern Printing and Graphics, R. Popovitch Builders, Travelers Commerical Ocean Marine Insurance, and Ocean First Bank.
