Devin Hart: Point Pleasant Boro's Championship Runner

Devin Hart has won win the NJSIAA Meet of Champions, and he placed 10th in the Foot Locker National Championships. The Point Pleasant Boro High School junior has maintained that pace this winter indoor track and field season, according to The Asbury Park Press.

The latest Hart wins came in the NJSIAA’s Central Jersey Group II Championships last Saturday at the Bennett Center Athletic Center Complex “bubble” facility in Toms River and its 200-meter track, according to The Press.

He dominated the 3,200-meter race, clocking in 9:10.21, best time for the distance in the nation thus far this winter - improving on the 9:10.44 he'd run at the Shore Conference meet Jan. 26. He then ran the 1,600 final in 4:16.66, which was still the best thus far by a New Jerseyan, according to the report.

“It’s cool (to be the national leader in the 3,200),” Hart told The Press, “but I know I can definitely improve on it.” He will also run in the coming state Group II Championships and Meet of Champions, both at the “bubble,” and then the National Scholastics in New York, according to the report.
