Dorothy Linney Hatch Of Point Pleasant Dies At 95

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday in Point Pleasant.

Dorothy Linney Hatch of Point Pleasant, passed peacefully on Friday, September 16, 2016. She was 95.

Known to her family as Linney, she was born in Peterborough, England, and resided in Point Pleasant.

She worked as a registered nurse until retiring from nursing to open Everybody's General Store in Point Pleasant Beach along with her sisters. She was also a member of the Point Pleasant Garden Club and Historical Society. She always looked forward to her travels back to England. Linney enjoyed heading out on the sailboat with Foster, which was always an adventure.

Linney was predeceased by her husband Foster, her son Steve, her brothers Ken and Ray Green and her sister, Betty Clayton. She is survived by her son Pete Hatch and his wife Kathi; four grandchildren, Aliza, Ian, Justin and Ryan and three great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her sisters, Barbara Fioretti and Nancy Miksis.

The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Sunnyside Manor Recollections Memory Care Unit for their patience and kindness.

A celebration of her life will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday September 23, 2016, at St. Mary's by-the-Sea Episcopal Church, 804 Bay Avenue, Point Pleasant Beach, NJ 08742.
