Dr. Frank W. Corbally Of Point Pleasant Dies At 64
Services for popular area cardiologist will be held on Thursday and Friday.

Dr. Frank W. Corbally, 64, of Point Pleasant, and formerly of Lancaster, PA passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 6, 2015 at home surrounded by his family.
Dr. Corbally was born in Newark on May 7, 1951. He spent his childhood in Clifton, NJ. He attended Seton Hall University in South Orange, NJ and graduated at St. Joseph’s College in Philadelphia, PA with a BS in biology. He then graduated Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his medical residency at John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital in Stratford, NJ. He also completed his cardiology fellowship at JFK Memorial Hospital and his cardiac catheterization training at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA.
He started practicing cardiology at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, School of Osteopathic Medicine in Stratford, NJ where he also was an assistant Professor of Medicine.
In December of 1990, he moved to Lancaster, PA and became one of the founding partners of the Heart Specialists of Lancaster. He championed the heart failure program at Heart Specialists of Lancaster in collaboration with Lancaster General Hospital and the University of Pennsylvania. He was passionate about patient advocacy and quality of care. Dr. Corbally was the Heart Specialist of Lancaster County quality control director and president of the corporation.
He was a member of the American College of Osteopathic Internists, American Osteopathic Association, Pennsylvania Osteopathic Medical Association, and a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology.
He was an avid New York Yankee fan. He loved boating and spending time at his home on the Barnegat Bay. His greatest joy came from spending time with his children. Despite his demanding schedule, he found time to coach all four of them in both basketball and Little League when they were young.
Dr. Corbally’s family would like to thank his friends, colleagues, coworkers and patients for the hundreds of cards and letters he received during his courageous battle with cancer. Your words of love and encouragement helped him through those difficult months.
He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Corbally in 2001. Surviving are his loving wife of 33 years, Mary Ellen (Doherty) Corbally; sons, Dr. Brian Michael Corbally and his wife Grace of Mt. Laurel, NJ, Daniel Patrick Corbally of Philadelphia, PA; daughters, Kate Corbally of Philadelphia, PA, Molly Corbally of New York City; mother, Ruthe (Evans) Corbally of Toms River, sister, Kathy McCartney of Voorhees, NJ; brother Michael Corbally of Point Pleasant Beach, an expectant granddaughter in November; and his faithful companion, Hunter.
Visiting will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Road, Brick, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday at Sacred Heart Church in Bay Head, NJ. Final interment will be private. Donations may be made in his name to the Pancreatic Cancer Center/ The Sydney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center at The Johns Hopkins University Hospital or to the American Heart Association .
