Families Displaced As Fire Rips Through Point Pleasant Inn
Firefighters fought the fire at the inn on Arnold Avenue in Point Pleasant Beach for four hours to bring it under control, officials said.
POINT PLEASANT BEACH, NJ — Nine people were left homeless early Saturday after a fire tore through the Point Pleasant Inn on Arnold Avenue, authorities said Saturday.
The fire, which was reported shortly before 10 p.m., and Ocean Fire Company officials said in a post on the department's Facebook page. Responders found heavy fire on the third floor.
The fire company did not report any injuries.

Firefighters from Ocean Fire Company and Point Pleasant Beach Fire Company went into the home searching to make sure everyone was out and started fighting the fire from inside the building, officials said. But because of weather conditions and water supply issues, the fire worsened inside and the firefighters inside the house were forced to clear out, officials said.
The Point Pleasant Fire Department and the Brielle Fire Company were called in to help, and fire crews spent about four hours knocking down the fire, officials said.

South Wall Fire Rescue and Silverton Volunteer Fire Company provided support, and Point Pleasant First Aid and Point Boro EMS provided emergency medical support and rehab for the firefighters at the scene, authorities said.
Red Cross volunteers helped nine people in eight families who had been living at the inn, providing assistance for temporary lodging, food, clothing and other immediate needs, the Red Cross said in a tweet.
The Ocean County Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire, Ocean Fire Company officials said.
