Family: 'Car Came Flying Down' Point Beach Street – And Crashed

POINT PLEASANT BEACH – Have you seen this car? A family says it was speeding and the vehicle crashed after the Festival of the Sea in Point Pleasant Beach on Saturday.

The incident happened around 10 p.m. Saturday when a car came flying down Grove Street at an unreasonable speed, said Nina Sassano of Point Pleasant Beach.

The driver hit her dad's car full-speed and then fled the scene, she said.

A piece of his bumper was found on the lawn, indicating that this was a 2015/2016 white Toyota Camry, she said.

Sassano believes the crash was likely the result of drunk driving.

"While we are upset to have lost a vehicle, we are thankful that nobody from the Seafood Festival or the neighborhood was walking in front of the house at the time," she said. "It could have been much worse."

"We are hoping to find this person and hold them accountable for their actions," she said. "Please don't drink and drive. You never know who you hurt."
