Fire Company Coin Toss Turns Up Medallion In Point Pleasant Beach
Fire company officials are hoping to unite the medallion with its owner, after finding it among proceeds from a fundraiser.

POINT PLEASANT BEACH, NJ — A coin toss fundraiser turned up a coin with a much different value on Saturday, and the Point Pleasant Beach Fire Company 2 is hoping to get it back to its rightful owner.
The fire company, in a post on its Facebook page, shared a photo of the medallion found among the coins received during the fundraiser at the Route 35 bridge.
In a coin toss fundraiser, members of the fire company hold out buckets or fire boots to vehicles stopped for a red traffic signal, and people toss in whatever they feel like, from change in their pockets or purses to dollar bills.

"As we were reviewing all donations received, we came across this coin," the post said. " We think this may have been donated accidentally, as this coin might hold some sentimental value to the original owner."

The fire company also thanked everyone for their donations to the fundraiser: "Thank you all for the participation today."
