The project that had been championed by Reid. During another vote on the project in September, four council members voted to approve, while Councilman Paul Kanitra abstained and Councilman Tom Migut voted against it.
"It’s a great location and open space money will be used to build it," Reid said then.
Reid said the cost won't exceed $215,000.
The park was cause for concern for some councilmen and residents – some of whom appeared at a recent council meeting to address their issues..
Reid, however, said the park will improve the town's quality of life – a top priority for him as mayor.
"Once again this is my commitment to leaving it better than the way I found it," he said.
