Herbertsville Road Diesel Spill Came From Truck's Cracked Fuel Pump

Point Pleasant police said the spill covered the length of Herbertsville Road in the borough along with part of Route 88.

POINT PLEASANT, NJ — A commercial truck with a cracked fuel pump leaked diesel fuel on Herbertsville Road Wednesday morning, causing a sheen on the road, Point Pleasant police said.

The fuel spill was reported about 11:30 a.m., Capt. Adam Picca said, and was visible on Herbertsville Road between Route 88 and Route 70 and on part of Route 88 leading into Point Pleasant Beach at Route 35, he said.

Officers found the commercial delivery truck at Walgreens, 1501 Richmond Ave., where it had become disabled as a result of the cracked fuel pump, Picca said.
