Increased Drunk Driving Patrols In Place In Point Pleasant

The Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign will be targeting impaired drivers through saturation patrols, police said.

POINT PLEASANT, NJ — Point Pleasant police will be conducting saturation patrols watching out for motorists who are driving under the influence through the end of the year.

The borough police department announced it will be joining the national Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign, which targets impaired drivers during the holiday season.

"Please drink responsibly, there is too much at risk!!" Point Pleasant police said.

During the last five years, New Jersey has had more than 33,000 alcohol-related crashes and there have been 662 alcohol-related fatal crashes. There were 11,654 people killed across the U.S. in alcohol-related crashes in 2020, authorities said.

The Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign started Saturday and runs through Jan. 1, 2023.
