Jenkinson's Boardwalk Cancels Fireworks July 7
The potential for wind that could create danger led to the cancellation, officials said.
POINT PLEASANT BEACH, NJ — If you were planning to go to Point Pleasant Beach Thursday evening to watch fireworks, there's bad news: Jenkinson's Boardwalk officials have canceled the July 7 display.
"Thursday, July 7th Fireworks update: Unfortunately our fireworks show tonight has been cancelled due to the east wind forecasted during the fireworks time," Jenkinson's officials said in a post on the boardwalk Facebook page. "The safety of our customers is our number one priority and any east wind is not fireworks friendly."
"Thank you for understanding and we hope the wind cooperates better for our next scheduled show on Thursday, July 14th," the post said.
