Jenkinson's Could Own Nearly Everything On Point Beach Boardwalk
Jenkinson's is in talks to purchase Risden's Beach and Bath House, according to reports. Point Pleasant Beach wanted it, to.

Jenkinson’s Boardwalk could own just about everything on the Point Pleasant Beach boardwalk very soon.
Jenkinson's is currently in negotiations to purchase Risden’s Beach and Bath House, Attorney Edward R. McGlynn told Patch.
“We’re pretty close to completing the purchase, but I can’t discuss any details until we close on the sale,” McGlynn told Patch, adding the projected closing date is Jan. 15.

Point Pleasant Beach Mayor Stephen Reid told Patch that the borough was interested in buying the Risden's property but the asking price was way too high, saying: "Would I love to have it? Sure."
"We can never compete against the private industry," Reid said. "It was like a no-go from the beginning."

Jenkinson's owns nearly all of the beachfront facing the boardwalk area of Point Pleasant Beach. The company bought out Herman's in the late 1980s. The company operates a number of attractions on the boardwalk, incuding arcades and an aquarium.
Reid said the borough had struggled in its dealings with Risden's, but he said he's looking forward to Jenkinson's coming in. "They've always done everything first class," he said.
