Jerome 'Jerry' Blevin Of Point Pleasant Beach Dies At 82

Farewell service for family and friends at Jenkinsons North on Sept. 3.

Jerome “Jerry” Blevin, 82, of Point Pleasant Beach, passed away peacefully on August 26, 2015.

Born in Atlantic City to the late Maude Alice Kaniak, he was raised in Cape May, and went on to honorably serve his country in the U.S. Navy. He enjoyed careers as a technical writer and business owner and in his retirement, Jerry loved helping others through his computer repair business.

Throughout his life, he gained self-taught interests; in motorcycles, foreign cars, and flying his plane. Jerry was genuine, kind soul, always rooting for the underdog. He loved animals, and would go out of his way to help anyone in need. He was an avid reader with a keen interest in politics. Jerry loved taking walks, long bike rides with his beloved wife Pat, and sitting out on his deck with a glass of wine and a scrabble board. Those who knew him, will remember him as a devoted father and grandfather, a loving husband, and a great friend.

Surviving are his devoted wife and best friend of 32 years, Patricia Hazard Blevin, who was the love of his life. He would often say that she was “the best deal he ever made”, his dear sister Helen Lee Glidden, his loving children, John Blevin and wife D’Ann Harris-Blevin, Scott Blevin and wife Jennifer Blevin, Jane Blevin, step-children Kevin Wendle, Kim Taggart, Janet Wendle, Jill Davis, and his many cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren. There will be a small farewell service for family and friends at 11a.m. on Thursday, September 3, 2015 at Jenkinsons North, 3 Broadway, Point Pleasant Beach.
