Last Wave Brewing Company Coming To Point Pleasant Beach

Owners plan to renovate existing building at 601 Bay Avenue for new business.

The owners of the Last Wave Brewing Company have settled on Point Pleasant Beach to establish their new business on Bay Avenue in part due to the "artisan feel of the town."

“This is a great opportunity for us to bring our beers to the Jersey Shore and this is a nice little niche spot,” said Bert Roling, brewery co-owner with Nick Jiorle.

The two men plan to renovate an existing building at 601 Bay Avenue into the brewery, which they hope will be open year-round, according to the Ocean Star.

“Nick and I have been brewing together for a long time now, a little over five years, slowly honing our recipes and finding what flavors we really love,” Roling said.

The two men want to brew a variety of beers, ranging from a hoppy Indian Pale Ale [IPA], a chocolate coffee stout, and a coconut porter recipe.

“A big part of this is going to be our ability to really explore brewing and have some fun with some scratch recipes,” Mr. Roling said. “That is the beauty of having a small brewery, you can tweak and hone as you go along and create new recipes for the people who come in often and help support us.”

The Zoning Board approved the plans for the brewery in April, which include a 40-seat tasting room.
