Lifeguards Rescue 10-Year-Old Girl From Surf In Point Pleasant Beach

Incident happened at around 5:15 p.m. on Sunday

POINT PLEASANT BEACH, NJ — Jenkinsons Beach lifeguards saved a 10-year-old girl who was in distress in the surf on Sunday afternoon, according to a report in app.com.

She was pulled from the water at about 5:15 p.m. on Sunday, Police Capt. Matthew Duffy said.

The girl, who was at the beach with her mother, was conscious and alert after the rescue and did not suffer any life-threatening injuries, he said.

She was taken to Ocean Medical Center in Brick for treatment, Duffy said.
